Re: Denver
Pete's Kitchen Satire Lounge was one of my favorites there. Get the house special omelet.
Who's got my old stickers?

1000%, hit me up and I'll sort things out! Sucks it is supposed to snow on Wed. Shouldn't be too bad though.

Re: Denver
Since CyberNigel gave you events, I give you food and drink:
Bars/Breweries: Green Russell for old school cocktails(make reservations...yes reservations for a bar, but it's a secret speakeasy joint...you actually go through a faux pie shop before you enter)
Williams and Graham is another good speakeasy.
If you're a beer fan drive up to Fort Collins and go to the New Belgium Brewery(only an 1.25hr drive from Denver and highly recommended if you can find a sober driver as they have all kinds of brews that are NFS).
Denver has a few breweries downtown if you don't want to drive: Great Divide, Wynkoop, Rock Bottom, and a few others just outside of downtown like Breckenridge, Vine St. Pub, Cheeky Monk(technically a Belgian Beer Garden Restaurant).
There is also a local whiskey distillery here called Stranahan's that gives tours. It also has a really good restaurant inside called the Rackhouse Pub. My favorite place to drink though is at Mile High Spirits. It's the old building where the Obama art show in 2008 was, but is now a whiskey, vodka, gin and rum distillery(it's only 5 blocks from my house, so that's why it's my spot).
Food:
Snooze for Breakfast, Vesta Dipping Grill for low key romantic dinner but won't break the bank, Biker Jim's Gourmet Hot Dog's(this was on a Bourdain's show, that's how crappy he thought the restaurants in Denver were), Interstate(it's by Black Book and Shepard ate there a few times), Marczyk Fine Foods for sandwiches, also Spinelli's for Sandwiches, Sam's #3 for breakfast or 24hr diner, Steubens for dinner(was on Diner's, Drive-in's N Dives), and IMO the best meal in Denver is at Fruition. The owner owns a farm locally and everything is brought in fresh from his farm daily. It's $$$$ though, but very worth it.
I would also recommend going up to Boulder for a day. It's a pretty cool hippy college town(home of my CU Buffaloes!!) and there are lots of things to see and do there. If the weather isn't bad(which it might be) you will find some of the most beautiful hiking trails in the world here.

Re: Denver
Just booked for 4/20!!
Going to check out the OM show if possible and will check out the above suggestions for sure.
Looking for a ok place to stay in town, close to good beer and good shrubbery, and not too pricey. Any recommendations besides your run-of-the-mill chain?

And not one of you has mentioned the recent changes in Colorado law.

This thread was started before Colorado voters passed the law.jjttdw wrote:And not one of you has mentioned the recent changes in Colorado law.
Re: Denver
Ha. I read the entire thread and never noticed the dates. Reading comprehension was never my strong suit. Maybe I spent too much time in "Colorado" when I was younger, leaving me addle minded in my old age.spagucci1 wrote:This thread was started before Colorado voters passed the law.jjttdw wrote:And not one of you has mentioned the recent changes in Colorado law.
Re: Denver

There are some cool speakeasys too...
Green Russel fronts as a pie shop and has tasty drinks in the hidden bar. Though it is on Larimer square which is pretty trendy.

Williams and Graham has great drinks and food and is just across 25 in the Highlands:

Thanks but I think I'll be beer chasing with all of the big dogs in town for GABF. You'll catch me at Freshcraft and Falling Rock (possible others) for libations.
