Adding onto the forum post ranks - what to add
The rank you get from posting needs to be updated, and I think we should add new ranks as well.
Any thoughts
Right now it is
Punk (start)
Swindler 100 posts
Posse 250 posts
Propaganda Engineer 500 posts
Giant 1000 posts
Any thoughts
Right now it is
Punk (start)
Swindler 100 posts
Posse 250 posts
Propaganda Engineer 500 posts
Giant 1000 posts
I really hate PMs. Please just email me.

It would be nice to have titles at 1500, 2000, and on

Some random ideas (no particular order)
Stencil Assistant
Wheatpaste Master
Propagandist
Viral Experiment
Sticker Instigator
Phenomenologogist (?)
Appropriator
Pattern Designer
Collage Creator
Platinum Club ( )
My vote is to expand the list a little, been a Giant for some time and it was fun trying to hit that next level for a while. But I agree the downside may be more quantity than quality for a time.

Re: Adding onto the forum post ranks - what to add
Well, I would too. It's a fact that this has grown past the original concept. hehe I've seen other forums reset the board and everyone starts at zero again and that REALLY sucks. hahaha Think of the demotion as you got caught pasting illegally and are on parole.
If I'm not mistaken (could be another forum engine), buried somewhere in the software for this forum, there is code that allows users to rank others posts for quality too. Basically allows other members to give you points for posting great stuff (like source images, etc...) It also allows subtractions when members don't behave according to social norms. Now that I think about it the interface looks different. Puff.com (cigar forum) uses that version if you want to see it.

Yeah, not really in favor of using that. It doesn't promote a good "community" vibe and becomes a tool for the cliquish.MunkeyPants wrote:If I'm not mistaken (could be another forum engine), buried somewhere in the software for this forum, there is code that allows users to rank others posts for quality too. Re: Adding onto the forum post ranks - what to add
i think they should be left as is with new ranks getting added on top. 2000, Frank Giant 5000 Shep Giant 10000 Andre the Giant.
Who's got my old stickers?
Re: Adding onto the forum post ranks - what to add
Just throwing out some names from Shep's art that I thought could be used:
Defiant Youth (obviously somewhere early in the chain)
Big Brother
Rebel
Andre (the top) - I see halopigg also just suggested this.

Re: Adding onto the forum post ranks - what to add
i agree. a forum/post points system is the equivalent to a BFF meter and people will take advantage of it. in theory it sounds like a good idea but nothing good would come from it. didn't the banksy board stop using it because it turned ugly?admonkey wrote:Yeah, not really in favor of using that. It wasn't a suggestion. Although reading back over it, it came across that way. Feel free to delete that portion of the post if you like.admonkey wrote:Yeah, not really in favor of using that. That's reserved for someone who sticks around forever, even though we wish we could get rid of him.cheap cologne wrote:Big Proof Status
