yes ec, that's truly one unsane clown posse ... har har.

here's the other new thing for the wiki = tank brown red wall. only diff from other tank browns is that the wall under the flames on the right side is also red. It's an AP. not sure if the red was hand painted, if I dig it out of the file again I'll check.

That Tank variant is awesome.

Thanks for sharing that, Helen.

Might you happen to know the source for the art used to create the Tank image?

No ... that would be a question for Mark Vallen.

HA!

Yes, I kinda saw that coming...Just thought this looks sort of like the style of an artist I met back in 1994 or so. He was doing some propaganda/woodblock style art for Shep, so wondering if this was his or an appropriation. No matter, cool print Helen. Your collection of early Shepard Fairey prints is seriously museum-worthy.

I vaguely remember someone saying it was Caleb Neelon.

Yeah, I was the one that thought that, but realize now that I was mistaken.

Forgot the name of the guy I met...Oh well, it is probably sourced from Soviet era propaganda art.

Deleted my previous post so as not to spread any misinformation re: Tank :)

99.9% sure that guess is correct. I don't remember anyone doing creative work for Shep in 1994 and would question anyone who claims they were. Shep was cutting his own ruby's and continued to do so. He had assistant sticker cutters and printers, people helping market the tshirts, Ryan Lesser helped him do a little computer stuff, and that was about the extent of outside input.

if i remember correctly, we don't put this type of stuff in our wiki, unless there's a print or fine art piece related to the design.

I now have 2 of the melvins prints and they are both unnumbered and unsigned. I think a lot of them were not signed as well as being unnumbered. I know they are both real. The wiki says they were all signed but not all numbered. I just though maybe you could look into this. Thanks and I'll send pictures if you need them.
