-I'm up for restricting a few of the areas.... keep it to members only.... Jason's thread and even Visual Disobedience ( I have no problem sharing with contributing members... ) -if there was limited access to some of the threads, it would give the members more time to buy and a better chance at getting the product.
-I understand that Adam likes to keep it free... and in a perfect world it could be... but the site has grown and there are a lot of coat-hoppers aboard right now.... ( not making it any easier to acquire certain items..)
just my greedy 2 cents...

come on if people can by prints, even from obeygiant which are low priced, i'm sure they can invest $0.10 per week over a year to have insdiers tips, special previews and selling & trading forum access !
or they can resell a print for $40, and make these $5 available...

If you don't have 5 bucks for the cause, you have no business collecting art or being on this site for that matter. A lot of this info and hard work that everyone has put into this site is basically priceless for all the forum members. Please let me know when and where to send payment. THANKS ADAM!!!

-I was joking about the club idea!
Hey, I think this site is well worth $1. a month! ( you can even give a discount for the year = $10 for the year )
-back to the Club idea... I wouldn't mind an investors club... - I know, it sounds like business, but it would be fun to buy 1 big item every month or so with 10-15 board members money and see what we could do with it. Chart it etc... ( then again I do this with 9/10s of the stuff I buy) - when I'm not on the sauce driving vintage cars.....

I agree. I love this site since stumbling across it and a few dollars is no big deal. Thanks to everyone who contributes.
I think you should add it to the rules that members donate $1 for every print transaction in the selling and trading section. It doesn't have to be enforced, it could be an honor system. Anywho, I donated 10 bucks, without this site I might be doing actual work when I'm at my job.
I can't imagine that you'd have trouble getting a few dollars from people, but I don't think restricting parts of the site is a good idea... that will just drive away some fans, which would seem to be the antithesis of this site.
PS. What do you get on Amazon purchases? I'm about to purchase 2 TVs.

- Granted sharing is what this is all about... but like it or not... there are many ( probably hundreds) that use the site for one thing and one thing only... - info for what and when to buy a print to make money on. 9/10's of the site will still be free... -even if you are on the site just to flip... $1 a month is nothing!!! come on! -$10 a year for a lot of privileged info.... crepe, if my broker did half as well as the info I grab from this site I would be a rich man!
This is a pretty classic crossroads for a privately run forum and you either boost your ad revenune or charge for premium content (i.e. subscriptions).
You could try getting a transaction fee from a classifieds ad section but that will significantly increase your administrative overhead.
I think getting tithing from the faithful like you are doing is your best bet, especially with this community.
