The weird thing about that, is the image is just a square, and the grey background is not a pic. So I really have no clue where I would eve begin with this.

I'd bet that the color of the line is just picking up the background. If you can isolate the code that produces the new post alert and then reference the old forums code to see where it is placed and move it there, that would fix the problem.

The problem with that is that the two forums dont share any code. This a ground up rewrite.

Does it do it here
http://www.hirenshah.co.uk/swanky/

what about here
http://www.phpbb.com/community/

It happens on http://www.phpbb.com/community/. I didn't check the other site since I had to sign up.

There is a solution in here, though, I don't know what the visual will look like, but most of the issues I've described are brought up here.
http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=582739

There is also this solution as a mod.

This looks promising.

No issues using Safari on my pocket rocket.

In fact, I'm soaking in it right now.

They are allowing 3rd party apps next month.

But yeah, the site looks exactly the same on it.

I looked at all the solutions, and non of them seem any good.

One if for the old software. One is huge and costs money, and one just says how you could do it.

Cant you just tell it to turn off css? I saw that someone said you could do that.

Unfortunately, IE doesn't allow you to turn off css. And, Opera works but is prone to locking up.

When I try to send a PM by clicking on the PM button underneath a user's avatar the message seems to sit in my Outbox after I click submit. How do I actually get it to send and move into my Sent Items folder? Is this a scheduled task or something?

thx

They sit there until the person reads them. It's actually nothing new.

It is a non-stock theme that is heavily modified.
The theme I used as the base is called swanky.

Yeah yeah yeah. I have head it both ways. Why did I go with one over the other. Because at the time what I was doing was not possible with invision. I had wordpress, wiki and coppermine gallery using the phpbb system. Wordpress even used this forum as it's comment system.

Also, I always go with who has the largest development base.

But s there a real reason one is actually better than the other?

Actually I think SMF is better than both, but v3 of phpbb is making me take another look at it. v2 of phpbb was a spam magnet. SMF's community/development base is second to none, imho, and modding the forum it is way easier than phpbb, just so you know. SMF also has a nice portal front end handled by Bloc over at tinyportal.net. Dzinerstudio.com is coming out with some cool themes, too, but there are tons at simplemachines.org. Okay, enough plugs.

The thing that sucks about Invision is that you have to pay for it.

This site is sweet, though, I really like what you did with this theme. The only critique I have is that when you post images they sometimes are compressed too much to fit in the forum. Any way you can throw them on a lightbox so they open full size in a darkened window? If you need to know what I'm talking about, go over to this forum http://www.operationphotorescue.org/forum/index.php?action=forum#2 and click on the images that are posted. (oh, and if anyone is into photo restoration, we're always looking for volunteers).

Okay, now back to Obeying.

Hmmm... That probably be easy to do. I would just have to find out where the images are place and add a class name to them. I dont know if I will be doing that any time soon though. Kinda really busy right now.

Im using SMF on a site im doing for my school right now. I must say... I hate it. But it really just how ugly it is, and how it works on the backend.

Phpbb is a spam magnet, but that is really easy to fix. You just add a challenge question.
On the SMF site I just have it verify your school email address.
