Isn't Rick Leo's brother? I don't think we'll be hearing from him Rick. However, lb1469, i.e., Leo, was last logged on Fri Mar 28, 2008 5:25 am. You think we would have heard from him by now if he had something to say in his own defense. It's not gonna happen. It took a while for it to sink in for me what happened since I had actually met Leo twice and had good dealings with him. But, I talked to a few people who received the bogus Bast art cards and Leo actually forged the receipts on those. You know like, book and art card purchased direct from Bast with Leo's address on it. Game over. How he thought he would never get caught is beyond me. I think Bast is deciding whether or not to press charges. Have his Obama prints stopped showing up on eBay?

Jesus.

If true, and I'm not doubting you Robo, this is the type of thing that can break the public trust in a market, be it Bast or Fairey or anyone.

I think hearing from leo would be good also
normally two sides to any story though guess if police to be involved what you americans call " taking the fifth" would be understandable.

The paper trail of the dude buying the books of characters that were contained in the pieces is just plain damning

but lets remember this is the internets........
a place where rumour and innuendo have been known to pop up occasionally
just cos hundred people say something in cyberspace doesn't mean its true even if one of them is BAST

Good point but then again George Bush has defied all conventional logic

I phoned Leo who had been quite responsive up to the point of buying my Bast Porky Pig just before the story broke. No return phone calls after that. I think you could make a lot of "original" art cards out of a Bast KeyFood painting.

i too have hung with leo on a few occasions. seemed like a stand up guy. sold a few prints to him for his brother.
we talked quite a bit.
so i doubted he would do such a thing until i heard he signed his name to the forged documents.
plus my unreturned phone calls, pm's, etc and no words on the net by him trying to defend or explain what happened.
i know he's logged in and read my pm's, etc.
that's too bad for him.
but hey, you mess with the bull and you get the horns.
