I thought I'd share my misery with you guys. I guess with UPS, nothing is safe. At least it was fully insured!

Obviously these guys can't read...

Sorry to see this....
Flat shipping an 18x24 with UPS is very foolish though IMO. People speak of flat shipping like its the "professional" thing to do but something that big and flat is just asking for trouble no matter how sturdy the cardboard is...... especially with UPS!

thanks for the condolences guys. haha. it was shipped sandwiched between three pieces of foam core. the seller used to work for a gallery and this is how they normally ship without issues...

at least it was insured, so now i have to work with UPS.

I came home and saw the bent box with bboy's name on it, and I literally screamed, "FUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!" as it echoed through the neighborhood... then I screamed it again when he told me what the print was .... :/

OMG! That's is tragic.

I agree with Bonesy and I would also point out that cardboard is a rather poor choice for a flat shipping attempt. Gator board is a much better choice.

As Robo suggests, a pro should be able to help that out and minimize the damage. Hopefully you'll get some compensation, get it restored, and still be able to enjoy a fantastic piece. Good luck!

I was kidding, somewhat. I have pressed out a crease before using an iron and a teeshirt. it worked pretty well.

A solid restoration facility will work miracles with that print. Take the insurance money, and throw a few dollars down that avenue. It may turn out that you end up with a VG print for damm near free.

that sux bro.

for the life of me...i can't understand why ANYONE still uses UPS.

i can't help but thinking that the more a person writes "fragile-do not bend" on it...that they just fold/crush stuff purposely.
