Why Shepard Fairey and his Ebay Policy are wrong: No. 1
SHEPARD FAIREY: "....my Ebay policy exists precisely to protect my valued supporters from having to pay high secondary market prices for my prints."
WHY SF IS WRONG: The Ebay policy will NOT stop people from having to pay high secondary market prices. In fact, if every print went to a collector who were to never sell the print, then secondary prices would be higher than they are now. Does Fairey believe his "valued supporters" would sell their prints on the secondary market for original cost? Or just double the cost because they don't want to charge the "high secondary market prices" that flippers charge? Let's get real here. As long as Shepard Fairey intentionally prints fewer copies of a print than are demanded, demand will exceed supply. That is the very reason you have a secondary market. Make the prints open edition and then you can truly stop anyone from having to pay high secondary market prices. Look at the real cause of the problem and don't pass the buck.

I just had a collector sell me a print from '07 at about half what the eB/EB prices would dictate so go suck eggs.
Submit. Rapture.

Because the original author of the thread is a troll-- a new account with seven posts, each and every one of which makes a point to b^tch about Shepard's anti-eBay flipper policy just to justify the author's own flipping-- and if you're going to get pulled into reading a thread, it might as well be entertaining and not just the bullsh^t justifications of a semi-pro, armchair art-dealer wannabe who's p^ssed that Shepard wants to disengage the author's suction cup mouth from Obey Giant's tit.
Or is that being too direct?

Also, do we really need another thread about flipping blah blah blah?!?!
This is far more entertaining.
Now back to it...
isn't this guy (below) one of the Moderators of this forum?
