Woah whyhoo! Who even started talking about webmastering, or DIY, or money? Whats with the defensive ranting?
Asking about whether or not we can expect to come across this same occurrence in the future is not a crime nor do I think it is mindless griping and complaining. This was not the normal drop day mess and I have every right to ask for clarification so please get off it and let the Obey people speak for themselves. They don't need a bouncer censuring inconvenient questions. We leave that to Iconoclast.

it sounds like you're expecting something further when we've already received a response that addresses exactly what you requested. that's all i was trying to say to you specifically.QKocur wrote:I think we deserve a clear response addressing the actual problem and perhaps the steps they are taking to resolve it.
on point like a decimalist?
Fair enough. I just don't see how the explanation addressed anything other than the time they were able to post the print. It didn't address why the store coding seemed to be incompatible with a large number of people who had been online waiting at that point. I'm just looking for clarification and I'm sure eventually there will be, but I have to ask.
I don't think anyone over at Obey knows why the product wasn't showing up on
the custome'rs side. How would they know? They're not a bunch of tech geeks
over there. And if they were, we most likely wouldn't be following the Obey
campaign. Unless all of the prints were as cool as the 404 page Weston posted.
They just need better servers and a better shopping cart system.

Re: Ministry of Information -Behind the scenes of Obey!
Sorry if y'all don't like my bitchin' but when he "suggested" we bring Supply & Demand that meant to me anybody who is a fan but hasn't purchased that book would at least have a chance to search online or guess or something.
Wow, what another waste of time from Obey. At least I didn't spend 4 hours looking for a print that wasn't there.
Good luck to all the REAL fans who can only prove their loyalty with their wallets.

Thanks to Obey for doing these contests and keeping us updated on here as well as for the behind the scenes looks!! ...But maybe these are things only the "REAL fans" could appreciate...

Take the money you were going to spend on ornate pattern and buy the book. It is completely worth it. Also, the last contest was book oriented so, when he "suggested" you bring your book, why would you expect it to be anything else but book related.irishdroog wrote:Sorry if y'all don't like my bitchin' but when he "suggested" we bring Supply & Demand that meant to me anybody who is a fan but hasn't purchased that book would at least have a chance to search online or guess or something.

are you kidding me with this? he suggested bringing in the book because he was telling you that you need the book.... what more do you want, should they have emailed you the questions ahead of time? are you that daft that you didn't get the hint? maybe he should have just said the first person to post "give it to me" wins instead of having an actual contest where you have to earn the prize.....irishdroog wrote:Sorry if y'all don't like my bitchin' but when he "suggested" we bring Supply & Demand that meant to me anybody who is a fan but hasn't purchased that book would at least have a chance to search online or guess or something.

they go all out with nice gestures like this and you b1tch and moan about wasting your time and go on a ramble about real fans... way to be a rude d1ck and ruin the fun, don't let the door hit you on your self absorbed a$$ on your way out.
(PS. sorry if i offended anyone, other than irishdroog, but it ticks me off when people spit in the face of someone who tries to do something nice for the community)

Ouch! The book is great, I have 4 copies. My mom started reading it when she was visiting at Christmas, and she ended up taking it home with her because she was fascinated with the whole movement and wanted to read more. IMO, it is worth a read.

If you have a problem with me voicing my own durn oppinions on a g-d forum, then you can just as easily let the door hit you on the way out. I don't give a sh*t if you've got 7000 posts under your picture.fribhey wrote:are you kidding me with this? he suggested bringing in the book because he was telling you that you need the book.... what more do you want, should they have emailed you the questions ahead of time? are you that daft that you didn't get the hint? maybe he should have just said the first person to post "give it to me" wins instead of having an actual contest where you have to earn the prize.....irishdroog wrote:Sorry if y'all don't like my bitchin' but when he "suggested" we bring Supply & Demand that meant to me anybody who is a fan but hasn't purchased that book would at least have a chance to search online or guess or something.

And yes, "suggesting" you bring the book was a hint. I'm not an idiot. However try as I might there were no stores carying the book in my immediate area (or that I could get to in the last couple of days). So since he just hinted that the answer would come from the book I thought, at least I could still participate, try and play, and maybe find the info online or guess lucky. Why not? Why make it so that you have to prove you've purchased the book to play? That's whack. That's comercialism BS...the same comercialism BS that half of the bloggers on this forum b*tch about every time a print comes out they don't like..."oh Shep's just doing it for the money now, blah, blah, blah". In that case however, it's still up to artistic interpretation as to if "Shep's doing it for the money" or not. In this case, there's no arguement. Proving you purchased the book in order to play is BS. Plain and simple. At least McDonalds says "no purchase necessary" with their contests...
And I can b*tch and moan becuase it's a free f'n forum dude. You can keep your redneck "if you don't like this country, then get out" attitude. No thank you.
AND...after last week's fiasco, um I mean "drop", can you really, really, really blame me for not being a little overly-disapointed?

It's a safe assumption that serious Shep fans (at whom these contests are aimed) have this book.
Get yourself a signed copy from the OG site, read up, and wait for the next contest. Whining on this thread is bad form.
