"over 200 transactions" Maybe it should read "Over 200 flips"
Nice to see you bought a print with no intention of keeping it. Word from the wise, Flipping is not appreciated here...

Sorry about the banter, but this does bring up a good question about flipping. Wikipedia defines flipping as "Flipping is a term, used primarily in the United States, which refers to the practice of buying an asset and quickly reselling ("flipping") it for profit." One might argue that acquiring a print to be later traded for another print does not fit this definition. Just a thought.
/banter.

I had no idea that´s how it worked, I do see your point if it´s me you are refering to, it wasn´t ment to seem like I wanted to make a profit out of it, more like that I have been searching for the Visual Pollution for a very long time, and saw it as a chance to grab it.
If I wanted to make money I wouldn´t offer around 500 dollars in the deal, I think that prooves that I appreciate Fairey´s work.
I take this notice, but you should give people a chance before jumping on them straight away. If you saw my walls you would know, that I appreciate art, especially Fairey´s.

200 upgrades would make for a mighty fine piece!!!

So that it the same as flipping? I am not trying to be stupid here, but I seriously have no idea.
I can tell you this much, I have spent around 6000 dollars on Fairey prints the last six months, planning to frame each and every one of them.
I won the bee from EMEK, framed it as the first thing. I appreciate art, but come on people, some are new to this game, give people a chance instead of pulling the trigger as the first thing. I do understand people appreciate the prints in here unlike some people that buy them to make dollars, but as a new guy from Denmark (Fairey could might as well be an american icecream here) I do have a thing or two to learn.
I appologise if I offended anyone, you learn every day.

No, "upgrading".
I personally don't see anything wrong with what you did.
You spent half your day trying to get a print and saw there was a huge demand for it in the Wanted section. Then offered to trade it with your own cash for an upgrade.

i agree with PDC
nothing wrong with it, except the fact you don't have the print in hand
If you get down to it nearly everyone here flips its just they let the print lay low for a few months before trading/selling.
Look at the for sale section, for example most of those prints that people bought new and are now selling for 3 times + the original price is that flipping?
or not cos they held onto them for a while.
I personally don't have a problem with people buying prints to sell or trading to upgrade their collection, it makes sense to me.

not have a print in hand is no biggie to me as long as its clearly stated or obvious in this case.
Things can go wrong of course like refunds or damage but the buyer knows that and no prints should be sent to the other guy or money exchanged till its in hand is ideal.
How many of the new banksy print did we see on ebay a day after the sale? now thats even more scary when that sort of money is involved....

If you are buying it just to instantly turn it for a profit you are flipping. A lot of these guys have their listings up before they even have the print and had no intention of ever keeping them.
Whether you feel this is wrong or right, it's flipping nonetheless.

Don’t feel you need to apologize or explain yourself to anyone. There was plenty flipping here before you joined.
As long as you’re not ripping anyone off, continue to do what you feel is best in your pursuit of adding desired prints to your collection.
Good luck on finding VP.
