From banksy.co.uk:

"Guests enjoy privileged out of hours access to Wall*Mart next door - the graffiti supplies store which stocks everything you need to make your mark and offers expert local advice and guidance."

I love it. Hope the hotel stays open permanently.

what's your definition of a show? The Walled Off Hotel (current)? Dismaland (2015)? Better Out Than In (2013)?

The last publicly released print was in 2010.

Just to keep this thread up to date, I'll throw the new Banksy print "Sale Ends Today" lottery link here:

http://picturesonwalls.com/reg.asp

I'd love to see someone on here get one.

Good luck!

The Walled Off Hotel is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Stunning, educational, beautiful. If you’re on the fence about going, just go.

I imagine. Funds are not in my favor. Hopefully it remains open long-term and I can get there this summer as part of my Moroccan Adventure.

How easy was it to make your way from Tel Aviv? Were airport staff OK to deal with? Any tips you want to share?

Thanks!

I took public transportation everywhere. It worked out flawlessly. Airport security in Tel Aviv makes TSA look like child’s play. Just don’t do anything stupid and tell the truth and you’ll be fine. Anyone who wants tips on navigating the whole trip feel free to DM me. The exchange rate is very favorable to USD. Turned out to be a very affordable trip.

Blade positions are odd...don’t seem like they could cut a canvas like that

The og gets rolled up inside the frame as the hammer hits and the piece starts to go down the frame . Then from the bottom of the frame, comes out the ripped out piece. 2 separate pieces . The buyer just got a 3 for 1.
The og has not been cut.
But it would be awesome if it was.

This is a “ I can’t belive you morons buy this garbage” moment come to life.

I personally don’t see how those blades could perfectly cut a canvas into perfect strips with just gravity. I would think you’d have to pull down pretty hard to cause it to actually work without it jamming up. I also don’t think that particular painting was from 2006. It had a lot more detail, similar to his current work, than the original girl with balloon image.

But I think the whole things is funny and I prefer to enjoy the ride that is Banksy instead of over analyzing every little detail or trying to figure out his identity. It was a good laugh, made it’s point and got a sh!t ton of publicity - that sounds pretty durn successful regardless if sotheby’s was in on it or if he used a pre cut paining and the actual painting was untouched.

I desperately needed a laugh yesterday and Banksy provided it.
As usual, the best Banksy works are the ones you cannot own, only experience.
