DUDE! I thought the same thing. I was like I hope they make a print out of that statue....

Has anyone else seen the preview list for the new show at Joshua Linear Gallery? Maybe it's just me, but does anyone else think the 8x10" mixed media on chipboard pieces seem overpriced at $700 considering BLK/MRKT sold a bunch on their site last Xmas in the $400-$450 range.

Other than that, the paintings look really nice.
I think they are a bit overpriced, but I think these are the best looking chipboard pieces he has released. Super clean, but I agree that they're priced a bit high.
The preview for Dave Kinsey's solo show @ Joshua Liner gallery is out, and I must say that it looks impressive.. the range of styles, techniques, and sizes is incredible!

I don't think they are overpriced. I think the pieces they sold off the BM site were older works where as these are made for this particular show/city. Same with the pieces at his last show in San Francisco. I bought one of the chipboards from the SF show and they were $650 from what I remember. Seems like a good entry-level price for an original Kinsey.
The prices that they were charging on the Blkmrkt site last X-mas were specials for the Holidays because they were doing housecleaning while moving to a new location, or something like that. They were putting them up as a holiday special for Dave's fans - not fair market value. Don't forget, they also had the large acrylic paintings for $350 or $450, and similarly sized pieces are in this show for ~$4k

I agree. Those prices seemed like a one time moving sale/holiday thing. This seems to be about where is normal price point is.
Honestly when Kinsey did that sale, while it was definitely cool for those that wanted one and got one, I felt at the time that that sale was damaging his brand, at least with the online community. Judging by recent eBay auctions that resold some pieces from that sale I would say it did shade peoples thinking about his works "worth".
