That's horrible he would recognize them as fakes and still sign them. Why would he do that? It makes absolutely no sense to me. Freakin lame.

That is kinda weird, hopefully he used something other than pencil at least. When was this pic taken?

You can tell he is signing with a Sharpie in that pic.

I've been in a sitch at an opening where it was sharpie or no sig. :( Those signings can get kinda hectic.

He had to. That thing's got more gloss than the grease trap at McDonalds. No way a lead pencil would make a mark on it.

Gloss isn't bad is it? I've been laminating my prints. :p

Just something I've been thinking about, maybe he could sign previously unsigned prints/pasters where he usually #'s them. That way, they won't tarnish any #ed versions, and he can make his fans (hopefully that's what they are) happy.

I've personally had a great experience with Jaspr and Shep getting something signed. They are really awesome standup people and I think they can tell the difference between real fans and flippers. I think limiting what Shep signs in general is a good idea...but at the end of the day I think if you are reasonable and not asking to have your whole collection signed or putting bootleg stuff in front of him he will probably still sign.

As always, it's the few @sses out there that ruin it for the rest of us.

tlh1005 wrote:Thanks for the info! Too bad about the printer spoiling it for others, but as far as respecting editions like "Yes We Did", that sounds reasonable to me.
Have we all lost our minds...Did S.F. create the andre face? So when a printer replicates S.F. whats the difference? We all know it will go on way past us(each individual) being in the ground and thats sorta, if u really think about it, the point of it all. Leaving your mark.... The printer who "spoiled it for others" is on the same team. Sry. for bad grammar or whatever pick it apart im not one to post just thought Id vent.

if people would make a lot of money fooling someone into thinking it was an original by getting it signed.. and fairey can basically tell that's their plan, then i see no problem with him refusing to sign certain things..
