Re: Ebay question
It says "sold for". If it was best offer I think it would say "sold by best offer" or something along those lines

Re: Ebay question
best offers and buy it nows say "sold for":
http://cgi.ebay.com/Germany-COLOGNE-CAT ... 1230wt_909
http://cgi.ebay.com/Thomas-Kinkade-SAN- ... 5203wt_909
auctions say "winning bid":
http://cgi.ebay.com/Movie-Star-Ava-Gard ... _500wt_922
but of course even if an auction says "sold for" there's no guarantee that it actually happened. if the buyer and seller agree not to complete the transaction, it is not noted in the closed listing.
unsold items say "price":

Re: Ebay question
I think either this auction is fishy or the buyer is a moron. This print just went up for auction at Philip de Pury last month and it didn't break $4k

actually that auction is for the larger edition that came out before the ebay one....I believe there were only 15 of the large ones...makes ya wonder
Re: Ebay question
I totally understand your confusion there – some of these ebay posting about such things of a product being sold can be really confusing!! That must have been a wonderful original Silkscreen print to have fetch such a whooping sum – but then it is only understandable it being one of Michael Jackson!!
Re: Ebay question
WTF ?
I would not doubt it sold for that, but who is ever going to know for sure ? this art world sure can be crazy sometimes.
