97 Soldier Star Brown

Post by justoneprint »

Hi all,

I have a 97 Soldier Star Brown in mint condition (I think). It's been framed in rag mats with uv glass since 97. Looked at it a minute ago and it seems still in like new condition. I'm wondering if anyone can give me an idea of what I would fetch if I decided to part with it.

I don't think I will because I always wanted to build a collection but I'm curious since Fairey is so popular these days. I bought this print off his site when I was 18 or something back in the boarding days, so it has a ton of sentimental value for me. Anyway, if anyone has an idea, give me a heads up.

Thanks
Amy :?:

Going from what pre-2000 prints have been selling for, I'd say it'd easily fetch $2k+ these days, especially since it is printed on brown postal paper. If I were you, I'd keep it. Your print is a real rarity and it'll be worth a lot more in the coming years.

That is a very rare print indeed. Would you mind posting a picture for us? I have only seen 3-5 of these and zero on postal paper. Thanks for sharing.

Here's a pic of mine. Would be interesting to see if the prints have the same screen imperfections

That looks like a "full bleed" as they say, right?

Hey Phởgg! What kind of screen imperfections are you looking for? I'll check mine out more closely...

Here are a couple images I posted in 2007. The bottom one shows it next to the white paper version:

As you can see from my foto i have a bit of black missing below the O in POUNDS.
Also i have a spot of red missing above the Y in TWENTY and a small amount of red bled into the black or missing black ink above the E

Cant quite figure out what number my print is. Seems to be 25/100 or 35/100.
