Print Storage
I have been looking for a portfolio book to store over sized prints 24 x 36 in. I am open to using a box. Can anyone provide a link or a suggestion? Thanks
Re: Print Storage
Flat file all the way. They're awkward and hard to blend in without some creativity but nothing works better.
I'm sure you've heard about checking craigslist but it worked for me.

Re: Print Storage
i have a large flat file that I use as a tv stand - debating putting a piece of wood on top and using it as a coffee table or a side table or something like that. I also have a 24 by 36 portfolio that I got from ASW (art supply wherehouse) look online there are always couponsGigantico wrote:Flat file all the way. Re: Print Storage
Another good source for flat files are used office furniture liquidators. I'm expecting a couple 42 x 54 later this month.

Craigslist worked for me, too. I put my search terms into a "web watcher" program and, a month or so later, after a few popped up that were more expensive than I wanted to pay, I picked one up for $50, delivered. Took a little TLC to paint it up to into a brighter future than its original 1950's-office-building-scheme, but it's been a happy member of the family for several years, since.Gigantico wrote:I'm sure you've heard about checking craigslist but it worked for me.

Re: Print Storage
One day I will own a flat file. But I found a 24 x 36 book, so I'm all set. Thanks for the leads guys.
Re: Print Storage
I find the 24x36 portfolios hard to use because it's much more difficult to get prints in vs. the 18x24 portfolios.nrgball@hotmail.com wrote:One day I will own a flat file. But I found a 24 x 36 book, so I'm all set. Thanks for the leads guys.
Re: Print Storage
Where do you store the 24x36 portfolio? That thing must be massive.

Re: Print Storage
i have two flat files, a 24x36 and a 36x48 (with a stand)... the 36x48 is currently sitting in my garage unused because it's too freaking big to fit in the house. the 24x36 is still pretty big but i solved the space issue by building it into the wall under my stairs - only problem is that i am out of space in the file:

Under the bed. That's pretty much the only place it'll fit. I love the 18x24's, but the 24x36 is ridiculously big and difficult to use.justin wrote:Where do you store the 24x36 portfolio? That thing must be massive.
