Edward Gorey Original?

Post by Mira263 »

I have what appears to be an Ed Gorey original. Any art experts in here that can assist me? Anyone have an ED Gorey original? This thing has provenance, just wondering if it is a cheapo common print or something unique. It has hand drawings on it in pencil, appears signed, but there is one thing that really confuses me regarding the way in which it was framed. Oh yea, it has been in a box in a closet for 30 years now, was a gift from the Scott Elliott gallery sometime around 1970.

Thanks in advance!

Hit me up with a PM and lets talk! 8)

Love to see a picture of it, if you care to share. I was looking at my Gorey retrospective book sitting on the shelf this morning and thought I needed to revisit it again soon.

I'd like to see a pic too.

Notudon, I have Amphigorey and Amphigorey Too, great books, are those the retrospectives you are talking about? Picked up 1st editions at a second hand store years ago and love em.

Aust449- no it is Elegant Enigmas published in 2009. It was in support of a museum tour of his work. I saw the retrospective in Orlando and loved it.
