General art/toy related charities

Post by saL »

I started running this thread few months ago on different art related forums, so I thought I'd add it to this one as well.. basically, whenever you hear of a art related charity auction/sale/fundraiser, please take a moment to share the info, and I'll try to spread the word... all for a good cause!

thank you for your help!

only few hrs left until the end of charity auction for Ben Eine's NUDE original piece (hand sprayed panel, edition of 150):

Image
Image

first two pieces sold for £360 & £380, which is a GREAT price for Ben Eine's original work, especially when you keep in mind that his latest print release (same edition), costs around £350-500 on the secondary market market!.. so if you were after Eine's work, this auction could be your chance to get an original @ very low price, and all for a great cause..

again, 100% of the price goes directly to the Shelter charity in UK!

Tubu Community charity art sale

Tubu Community is an independent organisation that has approached the Tubú in an attempt to find solutions to their current situation. We offer our support on a voluntary basis, without compensations of any kind. All funds received through this project will go to the Tubú peoples’ new home and the beginning of a productive self managed project through which they can find urgent support.

Renowned street artists such as Blu, Ben Eine, Vhils, Slinkachu, Bastardilla, etc, donated these artworks to help raise funds for these people. By purchasing any of the pieces, you contribute to the building of a new home for one of the few existing families of this indigenous tribe.

Here are some of the works that are/were available so far:

Legendary graffiti artist, and worldwide sticker bomber, who's simple "BNE" stickers can be found in every major city from NYC, via Amsterdam, Bangkok, and Tokyo to Kuala Lumpur, has decided to put his name and recognition to a good use by starting BNE WATER FOUNDATION..

Image

The main goal of the foundation is raising funds to help bringing clean, safe water, and sanitation to people living in extreme poverty. The funds are raised by selling BNE products (only sticker packs available for now), but more products (markers, water bottles, bags, shirts, etc) will be added soon, as well as art donated by the artists and collectors.

Visit the BNE WATER FOUNDATION and see how you can be part of this great project!

Seventy prints from the edition of 100 will be offered for sale exclusively through Artnet Auctions. Prices for this signature work by Fairey will start at $1250.00 and escalate in price as the prints sell with the final 15 selling for $2500.00.

New 18" x 24" cover stock lithograph featuring a screenprinted in metallic gold ink, with Yoskay Yamamoto's artwork, is now available at LinkinPark's website.

"Taiyo: the sun", gocco print with spray paint was originally created to raise funds on his blog. Then the image was used to promote linkin park's benefit concert in August which they raised over $350k. And now it's raising even more money in a form of lithograph/poster, making it one of the most recognizable images of all the Japan tsunami charity efforts.

All the proceeds from this item is going towards the survivor of the earth quake.

(Ice Queen, one of the Swoon's print you can get by donating money to the Dithyrambalina, Musical Architecture project for New Orleans)

From the salvaged remains of a decrepit Creole Cottage, the Brooklyn-based artist Swoon has re-imagined a permanent, interactive sculpture for the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans. We call it the Dithyrambalina. It will look like a house, but it will function like a musical instrument.

ImageImage

This project is an imaginative attempt to redress the futility of this blight by finding within it vast resources of salvageable materials. By turning our salvaged construction into a music box that is free, public, and playful we are inviting the wider community to imagine and participate in a new landscape of potential and possibility.

Your support will directly benefit these artists who need time and money to develop their ideas, and in return you can get one of Swoon's prints among many other things..

Simon Stephenson on Great Ormond Street hospital:

“I’ve always wanted to give back to the hospital that did so much for my family - Great Ormond Street. Many moons ago, both my daughters’ lives were saved there. To raise money I’ve created six series’ of limited edition screen prints inspired by my love of street art and animals – it’s a way for people to buy art at an affordable price, and my way of helping such an amazing hospital. You can read about my family’s story on the Just Giving page.”
