hmm too lazy to read thru 3 pages of thread here but I just noticed that one of the 4 prints in my Interpol Set isn't signed. I was going to send them an email asking if I could ship it over to get it signed.

Last fall I had him sign a stencil from the album cover set, he had no problem with it. I even had him sign in pencil.
Who's got my old stickers?

ha! I believe I saw that too.

I had him sign an older print last year at the They Live screening here in Austin and he had no problem doing it. Weird seeing a new signature with a '99 next to it though.

Shep had no problem signing my Obey Clothing stencil shirt from the NYC pop up shop. This was last September IIRC.

Artist Proof rip offs - help, question

Post by rico »

Im new on the forum but Ive been a massive Shep fan for years and now want to get a signed piece for my house (and to lend out to like minded friends etc.) I occasionally see AP (artist proof) editions for sale. AP's are obviously more $$$ than a normal signed/numbered print run due to rarity . Im concerned that I will pay through the nose for an un-numbered or rip off piece that a unscrupulous flipper 'elevates' with an AP in the corner (with pencil) that Shep signs cause hes a top-man. I have already seen a dubious AP on ebay (the A is not written in Sheps handwriting, almost for certain). My questions 1. does Shep sell AP's? 2. If so, were AP's also numbered. 3. Is there a list or catalog of AP pieces. 4. Any other advice welcome. (Im looking at a 'Jaws Wave' AP.) Thanks Rico

Hi there - this last post of mine was re-posted under the title "AP - Aritst Proof - SF" on hit and miss. This post was posted first but took a lot longer and I assumed I did something wrong etc. Sorry for any confusion - Rico

Since this got bumped, I left a print with the fine people at the Halsey during the show and Shepard signed it. Great bunch of people at the Halsey. It was a pattern print that was never released and was probably meant to be used as background in a larger piece. I'm sure he wondered where it came from. The date is wrong but I don't care.
