You're assuming Eine personally delivered the piece to Cameron, which may or may not have happened. Its my opinion that Eine had nothing to do with it so "blaming" him for "rolling over" may be a stretch, its possible Eine had no idea and might not be too thrilled at the same time.

I think its a better gift than most heads of state would exchange. As far as the political side of it I could care less.

No its not
I am not saying Cameron is cool or that Eine should be commended for giving not selling his art to him to give to my President. I am saying that it is cool that a piece of contemporary art is considered a gift worth giving in international politics and that it is cool that Barack Obama reciprocated with an Ed Ruscha lithograph. It helps elevate the status of street and contemporary art and makes an interest / hobby of mine a topic of international political discussion.

Yes to the extent that I expressed in my response:

"I am not saying Cameron is cool or that Eine should be commended for giving not selling his art to him to give to my President. I am saying that it is cool that a piece of contemporary art is considered a gift worth giving in international politics"

It is cool that contemporary art is considered a gift that represents the country of origin and is a gift that the country gives to another head of state.

Fair enough I respect your opinion but I think we are talking about 2 different things here.

mine is more about the integrity of the artist and yours about the profile of spray paint art in general.

So I think me and you are done here :)

For me I would be with you stickee if Eine was giving this to Cameron. However he gave it to him knowing that it was going to Obama, it makes it ok in my opinion. Kinda takes the hypocrisy out of it.
