heres a pretty dope video i ran across on hypebeast earlier!

http://bit.ly/c3j13Q
2010 marks what would have been the 50th birthday of American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. A large retrospective exhibition held at the Fondation Beyeler features over 100 different pieces of work from the pioneering artist. Vernissage TV reveal the full scope of the show in addition to an interview with Fondation Beyeler’s director and co-curator, Sam Keller. The Jean-Michel Basquiat Retrospective Exhibition will take place until September 5th, 2010.

the things i would do to be able to see this in person!

I wonder if it's the same 100+ piece exhibition I saw at the Brooklyn museum in 2005:

I left speechless... It was so good I went back to see it again.

Just watched the doc and it is an absolute gem. Very sad we don't have him around anymore. :(

I'd love to visit the exhibition at the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris right about now.

How could one snag an exhibition poster (if they even exist)? I went to the gallery site but came up empty. :?:

I went to the exhibition, a very nice one. I can't remember if the poster was sold...
This is the image used for any communication about the show (garbage-like thin paper):

Unfortunately, I won't be able to double check at the museum, due to the huge queue to access to the show (2-3 hours wait if you don't hold a priority ticket...) but I will ask friends to give a look at the museum gift shop.
I know that they sell the book from the exhibition (French edition or English edition) and a selection of postcards.

Really good documentary that gave me a much greater appreciation for Basquiat. Wish I could have seen the Brooklyn show. Hopefully it keeps moving around.

Just got "a quick killing in art" in the mail through eBay purchase. Burned through half of it at the gallery today, it's great. Thanks for suggesting it!
