James Jean

Post by djsp »

Just wondering if there were any other fans out there.
Process Recess
Not huge in the art world, but he is big in comics. (Yes, I still read some comics, my wife already gives me crepe about it, so get in line.)
Anyway, just wanted to share. I another piece from him real soon, and thought I would give him a plug on the board. His new print book just came out as well. I got it and it is real nice.

So for the few of you that are interested, this is the last thing I got from James. If there are any MCR fans out there you should recognize it. These are the original final pencils and a print he made of the finished product that was actually used for the album front and back cover. Sorry about the pics. I haven't unwrapped them yet, and the pencil is hard to photograph. Enjoy.

That's cool. I have his Tigerlilly print which is pretty cool. The painting he did for The Fountain is absolutely incredible, really love that piece. Can't seem to find the picture on the site now though.

There's a pic of The Fountain piece (and pretty much everything else James has ever done) on the Illustration tab of http://www.jjeanius.net .

“EXCAVATION”

VIA supertouch

We at Supertouch aren’t too shy about proclaiming our own JAMES JEAN as the next big thing. His painting chops are akin to the hand of God, and his sense of composition and palette are similarly sublime. Following his recent breakthrough art show at NYC’s JONATHAN LEVINE GALLERY, JJ has been laying low in the Southland quietly putting the finishing touches on a new series of masterpieces, like the just-completed vision we see here, “Excavation.” Rendered in acrylic and oil on canvas, this ethereal 3 1/2′ x 4′ dreamscape merely foreshadows the visual brilliance this nascent fine artist has to offer.
