El Mac
Re: EL Mac
SAFEWALLS is pleased to announce the first exhibition of all 16 original paintings by Ron English, Tara McPherson, Travis Louie, Miss Van, Nuria Mora, Ricardo Cavolo, El Mac, Jason Limon, Shag, Glenn Anderson, Jon Burgerman, Sweet Toof and debuting the pieces by Frank Kozik, Casey Weldon, Chet Zar, and Amy Sol at Trifecta Gallery in Las Vegas.
Through SAFEWALLS, the epic imagery of Cirque du Soleil and the tradition of circus posters comes to life, as interpreted by some of the best contemporary artists around the world. Thus far 16 artists have created limited edition and deluxe prints for Cirque du Soleil Zarkana, Zumanity, Corteo, Ovo, Totem and KÀ, inspired by the gorgeous visuals of Cirque du Soleil sets, costumes and makeup.
Never before have the sixteen original paintings been shown together, which are part of Cirque du Soleil’s private collection. The exhibition will also debut the 16th artist in the SAFEWALLS collection, Amy Sol’s beautiful interpretation of the Cirque du Soleil KÀ show.
The pre-sale of Amy Sol’s screen print will be available exclusively through Trifecta Gallery, with a limited edition of 50 prints. Please join SAFEWALLS, Cirque du Soleil and Trifecta Gallery on Thursday, August 4th at 6pm for an opening reception of these works. Trifecta Gallery is located at 107 E. Charleston #135, las Vegas, NV 89104. The exhibition runs from August 4th until August 26th, 2011.

Re: EL Mac
Being that I've been on the search for a Mac for a while now, I had to pull the trigger on a copper. I had to justify it as being an early Christmas present. I'll make sure to post pics when I get it.
Re: EL Mac
Got m'self a copper, too...

What galleries does El Mac show at?
Re: EL Mac
Hasn't shown down here in a while, other than the murals around town. If he would show somewhere I'd imagine it could well be at Por Vida. The guys at the gallery and Mac go way back.robotoil wrote:That's killer!Gigantico wrote:Snapped this at my buddy's opening of his new gallery, Por Vida.

Re: EL Mac
i really like The Mac's art all around but im really diappointed with his print choices. imo. he has done so many great walls by himself and with retna that would be amazing prints over most of the prints he puts out. its really disapointing. i dont really understand why artists dont notice that sort of thing. anyone in here know about his selection process?
Re: EL Mac
New print out on Monday at Moon Edition
Re: EL Mac

Re: El Mac
I still don't understand why him and retna don't make prints of their better, more colorful murals they have done. All the stuff he puts out is cool but it's so bland
Re: El Mac
Agreed. Though, I have rarely seen any combo artist print that I've liked.piratesprayer wrote:I still don't understand why him and retna don't make prints of their better, more colorful murals they have done. All the stuff he puts out is cool but it's so bland
Re: El Mac
I see what you mean about the prints being bland, however I think the simplicity in color schemes on these prints does enable you to see the crazy number of values he is able to create with so few colors and keeping his pattern throughout. Very impressive IMO
Re: El Mac
Got my print today. Really like it. Wife really likes it.
Re: El Mac
El Mac & Kofie just shared on their Instagram (@mac_arte, @keepdrafting), some images from the piece they worked on together @ at the Tesuque Village Market in Santa Fe:
