Ticket bots under fire...Obey bots next?

It's a logical next step, in that the same code that grabs tickets is employed by flippers.
On the other hand...they obviously don't understand how deep this SHT runs and how the deregulation boat has sailed, which let scalping (in one form or another) be acceptable.
Thoughts on this?

Re: Ticket bots under fire...Obey bots next?
Yeah it's actually way better than it's ever been right now.conartstudio wrote:people seriously need bots to get obey prints? it's not that hard.

Re: Ticket bots under fire...Obey bots next?
interesting, how do i get one of these bots that help me get front row tickets
no matter how hard i try or how close i am i to the presale or regular sale, i can never get the "best" seats in the house.
stub hub is basically scalping , right?

There is an interesting read from a former ticketmaster CEO that talks about the structure of ticket selling and it's so effing corrupt it would blow your mind. I'm kind of over going to shows anyways(def never going to another festival).vvk wrote:interesting, how do i get one of these bots that help me get front row tickets

exactly...once it became legal, TM jumped right into the thick of it with their own scalp affiliate. Some BS.
I've been lucky print wise here when it's been something I wanted, but you know people are employing script here and on other drops elsewhere...

I'd like one. Yeah, its easier than it used to be but I sometimes forget and it would be nice to schedule the bot to pick a print up for me.conartstudio wrote:people seriously need bots to get obey prints? it's not that hard.

If you think it's bad for Concert tickets you should read up on Shoe Bots for sneaker releases.
The bots are pretty much in and out of the system before most people even load the webpage. Nike is trying to curb the bot epidemic with a Sneaker Launch App (SNKRS). Any web based launch/checkout system is susceptible to bots though.
But to speak on the ticket epidemic I had a friend who worked at TicketMaster and they would set aside tickets for scalpers to sell. Most of the tickets are purchased by TickerMaster before they are even released to the public. TicketMaster also has reseller affiliates who do the same thing. Plus all the taxes and fees. It's ridiculous.
Obey bots is just silly though ...

It's just for show, Congress doesn't actually give a garbage if you pay extra for a concert ticket (or a print)
on point like a decimalist?

Re: Ticket bots under fire...Obey bots next?
agreed. Firstly, i think it's ridic that people use bots for prints, but we do know some here that use them.
Secondly, I find it odd that the bill specifies shows/concerts, when the same can be said about anything bought online ( as no1gdman said). The sneaker world is crazy. Sporting events too.
but again, it's interesting to read, but ultimately won't do anything.

correct me if I am wrong....a CAPCHA would get rid of bots
Re: Ticket bots under fire...Obey bots next?
Every time I buy Ticketmaster or live nation tickets. A capcha screens pops up and ask me if I'm a robot.jjttdw wrote:correct me if I am wrong....a CAPCHA would get rid of bots

Re: Ticket bots under fire...Obey bots next?
i like the newer CAPCHAs that involve clicking specific things in a within a set of pictures. There's no doubt a workaround there too
Re: Ticket bots under fire...Obey bots next?
This is a good read. Talks about bots in the sneaker game, ticketmaster, stock market, etc.
