Joshua Budich

Post by tbafromca »

Josh is a fellow forum member. When Metropark had an Obey t-shirt design contest, he posted a great Elvis graphic. I contacted him directly and he has since designed our company website among other projects.

My company had our 5 year anniversary this year. I decided to commission Josh to design a print. The print is named "Vision". It is 18" x 24".

There will be three limited edition signed versions Blue print (image included), Red on Canvas, and Green without the black banner. I am thinking that I might sell the Green version. The others will be provided to our clients. RGB are the colors used to display images on a television (Red, Green, Blue)

The print is a tribute to the original Indian Test Pattern. A complete description is available at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_Head_test_card

The Indian Head test card was a black and white television test pattern that was introduced in 1939 by RCA of Harrison, New Jersey as a part of the RCA TK-1 Monoscope. Twentieth century television became so important socially that this mere technical image, covertly identified as a branded industrial product, has become a historic cultural icon. Its name comes from the art of an American Indian featured on the card.

I think it turned out great. Comments are welcome.

I remember this guy. He used to post on here until a bunch of people accused him of stealing "Shepard's style" or something, right?
I always thought he did pretty nice work. I think this print turned out really well.

well, if shepard would have had a problem with it then i guess shepard shouldn't allow people to freely download the obey star from his website to use as they please.

everyone decided to gang up and attack him and i was one of the only one's who was defending him.

Frib- you and I both stuck up for this guy (one of the few times we agreed on something :) ) and I still am not happy with how it ended considering JB does come around anymore.

Indian

Post by tbafromca »

Because an artist had created the original, even though the image is in public domain, we decided to design it after a real Indian. We used the below two photographs for reference:

My choice to use Josh was not because of cost. I have a successful business. Based upon what I was looking for to represent my companies, in my opinion, I don't think it could have been done any better. My two cents and I sign the checks. Always a fan of Shepard Fairey and this forum.

Thanks for all the feedback.

Come on, that's not just an "indian." Does anyone know which Indian Chief this is? I don't, that's why I'm asking....

Name of files = Nez-Perce-Indian-Warrior and Indian-in-War-Bonnet

I don't think they are famous like Geronimo.

Looks good, man!
Is it limited edition, or is it an open edition? I dig it, I bet it looks super nice in person.
