If I knew for certain that I could get the Sotheby's prices I would sell 3/4 of my print collection and start over.

Lol, they have his birth year as 1950. Happy 70th birthday Shepard!

Looks like the one that used to be owned by the guy that posted his MLK hpm on paper all the time.

Heritage Auctions is going to have another Shepard Fairey only auction. The date will be July 14, 2021. The last auction had some pretty good results

https://fineart.ha.com/c/auction-home.z ... 3-interior

Its free to register to see the sold prices.

I've asked about fees and from the seller side it is around 20%. Twice as much as eBay but they seem to get better prices to make up the difference and you can't get scammed like you do on eBay. I will probably send a couple pieces in to sell. I think they are trying to limit the list to 100-150 pieces

As to what they are looking for they are trying to keep it to canvases, HPM’s, prints on wood and metal, large format prints and prints with great images from 2010 and before with a few exception from after 2010.

If you are interested, send me a PM and I will shoot you the guy's contact info.

Finding even a few good HPMs / woods these days on the secondary market is tough. If they can actually find 100+ pieces in these categories, I'll be delighted.

Sedation Pill on metal for $16k is nuts. And the 42x42 HPM for under $5k is also nuts.

As always, strength of image is the first driving factor.

And would have never imagined Sedition Pill fetching that kind of price!

Big Brother and Peace Guard definitely stand out as too high. I think they're basing it off the strong result from Afrocentric (about $95k). As always beauty is in the eye of the beholder -- but neither of these images is as strong IMO. We won't have to wait long to see how accurate they are. :D

Agreed. I actually think the estimates are low for DOH and New World Odor as well

Now here's an interesting one. The Hope stencil collage from DOH is up for auction.

So that means -- of the 3 that exist, one is on display in DC, the other is that $600k one from a bit back, and the final one (whose whereabouts weren't known until now) is this one.

But! It has been "laid" on canvas. Not sure how people will feel about that, but the frame job and presentation looks consistent with other works.

Any guesses? Anybody going to try for it? :D

Laid on canvas seems a bit odd. They wrapped the edges of the piece around the canvas?

No, I think they just adhered the paper to a canvas of the same size. It’s fancy drymounting in the same way that serigraphs are screen prints.

From condition report: "Unlined canvas. Some cracking and areas of minor lifting to the paper at extreme edges where it folds over the canvas stretcher. Additional minor rubbing to edges and corners."

... In other words ... ruined. What kind f'in idiot does that?
