Sticker database

Post by chuckkeppler »

Hi Everyone,

Spent the past few months scanning and sizing my sticker collection (~690 stickers, plus 50 sticker backs and ~60 show cards) and loaded them onto a website I designed. Check it out:

http://www.obeystickerdatabase.com/

I basically needed a way to access my collection for when something pops up on ebay so I can easily see if I have it already or not (bought a few over the years that I didn't need to). anyways, it's pretty barebones and utilitarian (exactly what I wanted), and organized in a way that makes sense to me. there may be a few doubles in there, but I'll weed them out as I move forward. let me know what you think!

none of it's for sale, however I was thinking about adding a "trade" page to show the ones I have available for trade.

Wow! That's a great ref website! Nice work, how long did it take to scan all that?

thanks! it was a few weeks of scanning and getting the pics ready to upload. I'm pretty quick at photoshop, but I could only deal with about 20-30 images a night. it was fun going through them all, though!

Awesome idea and fantastic collection! Congrats!

It does remind me of the other jaw-dropping collection that halopigg has amassed. You've all seen the photos:

I presume many of his would "round out" your database. :D

Oh, I knew you were. We all are!

If only the scans of his entire collection that Shep's team now so long ago could be added to your database, then the database would be really complete.

yeah it would be interesting to get a hold of those scans. I would definitely add them into the website...would probably just need to make a few extra pages so that I could keep my collection separate from all of the stickers in the database.

too bad that project kind of fell through the cracks...it would have definitely helped to see what was an official release and what was a bootleg.

Just updated the sticker database with a “Trades” page, full of extra stickers for trading. If you have any old stickers or gallery cards that aren’t in the database and want to trade, hit me up!

Insane collection and fantastic website!
Congratulations!!!!!!
I have a huge Invader stickers collection and would love to build a similar online database.
But I would even not know where to begin as I don't have any knowledge in building that kind of stuff :-/

Thanks! This was the first site I’ve ever built. It’s a wordpress site, so it’s pretty easy to configure to how I wanted it to look and behave. If I can do it anyone can!

Also added in a “recent additions” page, as well as a “trades” page

Hit 767 stickers today...lots of great stickers came in over the past few weeks, including a wood grain OG and two different sizes of the “giant” chrome prism banners. Plus I added in a bunch of different sized Icon stickers that I didn’t upload the first time around. So many variations of the red Obey Icon stickers!
