I believe that they are offset prints, not screen prints.bsharp wrote:Yes, one Obey and one Giantsimococo wrote:Hi

No. There was one on ebay a few weeks back and I confirmed with Shepard that it was legit and he said it was an offset print not a screen print, edition of 100admonkey wrote:Are you guys talking about the pasters?Cookie Head wrote:I believe that they are offset prints, not screen prints.bsharp wrote:Yes, one Obey and one Giantsimococo wrote:Hi

Thinks, looks similar to the one I've seen
What's the difference between an offset and a screenprint?

Offset refers to offset lithography, the modern practice involves using a printing press with a spinning wheel and 4-color separation process to transfer the image using oil-based ink.simococo wrote:Cookie Head wrote:No.

Screenprinting, or serigraphy, uses a mesh that has a stenciled image masked off so when ink ink is squeegeed through it, only the open areas are transferred to the paper. Today, lithos are much more of a mass-production technique and screen prints have more texture and color depth since each color layer gets laid down in a separate pass through different screens. In the Shep world, screenprints are more desirable as that was his original hand-craft and later when he branched to offsets they were usually higher editions on thinner paper.
