Re: What is the most you have paid for Shepard Fairey print?
I bought a Chinese #2 Print for $60 (it's an Artist Proof) a few years back to compliment my Chinese #3
and a GIANT Paint By Numbers (poster, not print) for $40 2 years ago.

paid 275 for a peace mujer yesterday, i absolutely love the print so i just had to have it. missed out on the initial drop and finally saved enough to get it from a flipper. EB shows it's only going up in value so i think that made the decision for me. can't wait to frame it up!

Yeah, I think one person goes insane and purchases a print for way more than everyone else, or someone shill bids. Then others begin to think their print is worth 2x what *most* are willing to pay. I just posted the same question as Robotoil in another forum. I want these prints bad but not $1200 bad. The eBay prices on Expresso really skew the market sometimes. Maybe like the hosuing market bubble, things will come back to reality a bit and I can pull the trigger on a Gold, Green, or Both.robotoil wrote:Simple over-reach. ...anyway, can someone please tell me what the deal is with the monkeypod? Why is there a monkey pod on ebay for $4500??? I really don't care for the print much at all and I'm at a loss as to why it should be so expensive.

going through my first posts on this board. holy crepe have I gone nuts for this ish.
Who's got my old stickers?
Re: Re:
Yeah, well, ExpressoBeans also skews the market badly in the other direction as well. Lots of prints sell for dirt cheap to the bottom feeders who want an amazing print, but don't want to pay for it and use EB as a guide to say, "give it to me for free." And $1200 for Monkey Pod is perfectly fair and within reason. There is no bubble for Obey prints, it already let the air out a long time ago.tlh1005 wrote:Yeah, I think one person goes insane and purchases a print for way more than everyone else, or someone shill bids. Touche. Except for the fact that people still think this way in 2011. Some things never change.

Re: What is the most you have paid for Shepard Fairey print?
For a standard print on paper, the highest I paid was $175 for Sunsets a couple weeks after it came out. I've never owned any of the high end vintage prints. Paid $2200 for a print on metal from Subliminal, but that doesn't really count.
