Shep print of the year . Quarter #1

Post by Dizzyegg05 »

Ok my idea is to hold a poll every 4 months as to there fave shep print of the year. 4 prints will face off head to head at the end of the year for print of the year.

If it does'nt take your fancy then fair enough but figured a nice idea. As voting for the whole lot at the end of the year leaves some prints buried and missed out. If a small amount of art is reviewed as the year goes on i believe offers a fairer vote.

Cutt off is Bauhaus.

I'm sure if it isn't approved an admin can close.

But i believe shep said it best when he said:

NOTE: I know there are variations of a few prints but to trim things down i added the edition i felt most prominent.

Wow, 1 each after 6 votes; thought there'd be a clear winner, but time will tell.

Awesome you approve. Just felt a slightly different approach could be interesting.

definitely man. After we did the initial best print of year/all time run, Scud did another survey with a different ranking system. Produced interesting results, with Marilyn still coming out as the top print according to the posse here.

will be interesting to compare it at the beginning of 09.

I think poll #2 will be end of JULY

poll # 3 for Christmas. With any sense to it, it will reflect in January's OFFICIAL poll.

But as you say. We shall see,

are you sure you guys are cool with having a vote with so many options? maybe you should just put up Progress and Hope then one different one that only the lunatic fringe will vote for.

Hope is effectively the same as progress and because Progress is first edition, i decided it was best to include only one edition of a particular design. Thats what im aiming for really as opposed to voting on what would be a much more a diluted vote. If i included that id have to include...blue Alva, silver Bauhaus..etc. Remember this is'nt the official print of the year vote , merely an experiment by myself.

Thanks for voting all. And in such numbers.

You never know..i may decide to do a "best of the rest " vote.

Lunatic Fringe here - voted for Bauhaus, runner-up was Vote!

This based on holding each of the actual prints in hand. Obama is just...Obama. I see more "art" in most of the others.

Great idea! 1 print to represent each series is definitely the way to go.

Although it seems the Progress/Hope print has had more than a little over exposure, you can't deny the importance the image has had not just with art fans but with the nation in general. That is why it got my vote. It's a great print too.
Alva was a close second though.

Exactly! If this is a quarterly poll, the second should end in June, the third in Spetember, and the fourth in December......
