I think this is the print I have liked the most this year.
Blood for Oil. I get it, but I probably won't get it.
It is nice though.

You recognized that it is a Hummer with no indication on the print that that is what it is. That is exactly why it is a Hummer.guyute73 wrote:Hmmmm, not so sure I want a hummer on my wall. I like the concept and message, just not this particular choice of imagery.

Re: Re:
I understand, but do I want it on my wall, not really. It's a great print, but just not something I'd put up.C.Morrison wrote:You recognized that it is a Hummer with no indication on the print that that is what it is. I am curious what the image is in the bottom left, is that an older OG symbol or something new, or something else?

It's an awesome design! But it would be so much better if it didn't say, "What is the cost of oil?" I think we'd get the message without that being spoon-fed to us.

Why is he driving a hummer? Why does his shirt say team America? Why does he have that goofy smile when gas is over $4.00?jwoods103 wrote:why is he not wearing sleeves?
He is the epitome of an a**hole. That's why.

I'd love to slide this one into my Obey storage portfolio.
I really like it when screenprints have the halftone work to make it look like more colors. Looking at Big Brother City up close for the first time when I got it was so great (especially from a technical standpoint)... I love the varying size dots, man. Something about just having two colors, but it looks like more from a few feet away is really cool to me...

Yea I'm with you. I think it's pretty cool but the that line there just kills me. I'll buy it though, won't put it up.Twenty7 wrote:It's an awesome design! But it would be so much better if it didn't say, "What is the cost of oil?" I think we'd get the message without that being spoon-fed to us.

I agree with a lot of the previous comments:
With gas at $4 a gallon, this poster seems a bit late to the party (though I know Shep isn't) --it would illicit a number of "well, no kidding..." moment for a lot of everyday, middle-of-the-road folks. There are millions more people today looking for hybrid cars than 2 years ago. This poster actually feels mainstream in today's culture --almost like something that you'd find at Urban Outfitters or --gasp-- GAP.
Exactly, it looks a bit too garish with an obvious type of car. I like the message, but this seems a bit too much like what the kind of liberal that annoys me would put on their wall (and I'm a liberal).guyute73 wrote:Hmmmm, not so sure I want a hummer on my wall. I think that would've been better.Twenty7 wrote:It's an awesome design! But it would be so much better if it didn't say, "What is the cost of oil?" I think we'd get the message without that being spoon-fed to us.
Yeah, that pretty much nails it.ca77 wrote:About 2 years too late?

I felt that same way about Sunsets especially after I saw the ruby that left the tagline off. I rank this one similar to Vegetarian.mishen wrote:Yea I'm with you. "What's the cost of oil?"
Well its 4.73 azzhole, and that's what I paid to drive up to LA and get that G0d@mn red casbah print
Seriously, I dig the print and I think we need to be able to buy pasters and paste the f^ck out of places.
