Yes, it was well worth the wait to get the book with freebies and a handwritten message...makes it more personal, glad I didn't buy it in the store! Thanks for being bored when you were packing these books up...nice way to mix it up! And the book kicks buttocks by the way...

I was lucky enough to get some of the freebies, three 4x6" stickers (Commanda, Kiss Me Deadly and Duality 3)...and a message on the butcher paper : "You Have Fun Reading This!"...very cool, and it came through fine...cannot wait to check it out after work tonight!!

Well, back from the book signing. Looked like a pretty decent showing. Was standing in line when I looked up and Shep pulled up in his Prius and parked. He came back out and parked his car in the back but I took a shot of his HOPE stickered Prius.

He was very gracious and personalized both supply and demand and the new book. He also signed my two Progress 4x6 stickers. I did notice that the first people in line had literally BAGS of stuff for him to sign. He clearly was a bit annoyed but gracious nonetheless. I'd estimate maybe 20 to 30 items. From books to shirts to collectable dolls. At one point he said he wouldn't sign the obama/mccain action figures because he didn't do the art. I was annoyed that those people were taking advantage of the situation a bit.

Some people have no class... (bringing bags of stuff)

But I am glad that you got a few things signed... nice score! I have many things signed by Shep, but I have never had anything signed in person... very cool...

I'm not sure if this will help anyone, but I ordered both E Pluribus Unim and Supply & Demand from Amazon.com a couple months ago and they have both shipped now. So they should both be in stock at Amazon.com. :D I will have both books very soon, this is going to be awesome! Haha.

$57.54 shipped for BOTH books!

Haha, I was starting to think the same way, but my wallet could use the break, so hopefully the new books will help me fight the urge... for a little while ;)

Yeah! I just got mine from Amazon. It's a lot larger than I thought it would be...
my first impression is that it's super nice and there was a lot of attention to detail put into every page and it really shows, all of the colors are very nice and rich as well.
And for under $20?! Oofta! Screamin' deal!

does anybody know how many books are normally in first runs? and will it always stay as the 1st edition unless they find a mistake and do an update?..or does it go to 2nd edition after a certain number are printed in the 1st edition run? i thought i read somewhere that Supply and Demand is on its 5th edition due to edits, etc. just curious how this works with books.

librarians feel free to chime in.

thanks!

Yes, Librarians please chime in. Especially if you're of the sort to wear your hair up, glasses, skirt, heels, etc. Not so much if you're into knitting.
