I'm with you, it does look cool, for sure, but I don't think I'll try for it at all. Maybe there's just no connection for me?slidingaround wrote:This doesnt even come close to elephant IMO. Am i the only one not really feeling it? I mean i like it but i wont be bothered if i miss it.

Re: Obey Venice Print - St Marks/Horses
I honestly hope this print is priced out at $150 - $200 (since it is for a good cause/charity) with a slightly lower edition (maybe 300 or so) so that it will be a little easier to snag directly from OG.
Or a higher edition (500 - 600) at regular price.

While the colors match, the design is fairly outside the Obey "brand". Anyone could vectorize this photograph and add a starburst/pattern to the background in Illustrator. I doubt a no-name selling this exact print could sell anywhere near the cost/quantity that Fairey will sell it for.
That being said, I think it's well done and I'll probably go for it.

I'm feelin it. To me it kind of represents Venice many years ago before it deteriorated to it's current state , which is cool since the money from this print is going to try and get it looking that way again. Count me in.

Re: Obey Venice Print - St Marks/Horses
calling this the best print of 09 is a little overrated..
it seems to me that to call an achieved work 'good art' and an unachieved work 'bad art,' is like calling one color 'good red' and another 'bad red' when the second one is green.

Maybe your right. Upon further review, I would say Israel/Palestine takes it so far...creestofer wrote:calling this the best print of 09 is a little overrated..

I haven't really looked at everything that has been released this year, but Israel/Palestine is definitely somewhere at the very top for me too. I love that print!dmggmd wrote:Upon further review, I would say Israel/Palestine takes it so far...
