Print of the year 2010 Poll??

Post by BigBp0057 »

Is there going to be a print of the year poll this year? Who usually puts that together?

I did it last year and I have the template ready for this year, just waiting till the first...
As of right now I've got:

Let Fury have the hour,
Your eyes Here,
Eye Alert set,
Writing's on the Wall,
Relief for Haiti,
Ornate Pattern,
Henry Rollins frequent flyer tour,
Compassion, his holiness the Dalai Lama,
Smokey Robinson red/gold,
Parlor Pattern set,
These Parties disgust me,
Raw Power,
180 South,
May Day Flags,
small Flag (Arkitip),
Debby harry,
Ali,
Keith Haring (red/green)
Basquiat,
Strummer,
Nico,
Neil Young,
Glass Houses,
Iggy Pop,
Dirty South Dance 2,
America's Favorite (red/silver)
Dark Wave (white/cream)
Moon over Biloxi (white/cream)
Obey Megaphone,
Woody Guthrie,
John Yoko,
Arctic 50th anniversary,
Freedom of the Press,
Mandala Ornament 1 (black/cream)
Mandala Ornament 2 (black/cream)
Alto Arizona,
Cornel West,
Pow(er),
Constructivist banner (red/cream),
Hello Kitty (red/pink)

And from Omethod's post it looks like we'll have three more...
Am I missing any?

Ok so I added, Rise Above CAC prints as two separate pieces, Providence prints, and Jason Jessee (like that'll ever win...)

I think I am going to chalk up the holiday prints along with the other mandalas... If a print wins that has multiple colorways I might separate them for the following round...

I'm hesitant to add the three prints tomorrow as they are reissued images... what do you guys think?

You've got Freedom of the Press there, which is a previous image with a new background. Seems these new three would be in the same vein.

Only reason I brought it up was the Freedom of Press change the overall composition, making it a different image all together with the Loom graphic branched over, same as the CAC prints. For the PCP three the prints are the same (besides Elly where the logo changed) just different colors...

If they were to be included would you list them separately or as the set?

I'm batting 19 for 49 or .388 in 2010.

Is that of all prints or only the ones you went for?

That's out of all prints. Good point. If I count only the ones I went for, that'd be a much higher number.

I didn't miss too many prints that I wanted. Ali was probably the one that hurt the most missing out on.

So the poll is finished and is ready to go up this saturday since prints have been dropped before NY in the past... It will be the same format as the last two years, three rounds same rules.

The last question I have for you is should the Peace Poster Child Print set be one option that can be split in later rounds or should they be three separate options from the beginning ?

I'd say three separate options.

As a set, I don't think we ever split up the patterns that were only sold as a set and I look at these prints the same way.
