BEWARE nonpaying unresponsive ebay user

Post by Phởgg »

Ebay user: (61)
You're an easy read
You ignored my first three friendly reminder messages and additional three invoices to pay
then bid on the current microgroove hpm fairey album at    US $506.50
Apr-13-12 08:54:22 PDT
thats three hours prior to me calling you out in my midnight message April 14th, after two days of your lack of communication on the purchase of my item after accepting your best offer April 12th 2012 for the need no water hpm album.
Then you used my frustrated final message as the reason you backed out of the deal claiming i was too rude a seller to give your money to that it had only been two days since auction close and you had just finished two days of long work hours when in fact the real issue was you had an alternate auction item in your sights at a favorable price at the start of its auction cycle and as my personal invesitagtion revealed had been online daily with activity on your facebook account but couldnt manage a one line response to my numerous ebay invoices and reminders.
Due to your lack of respect to at least speed up the reversal of my auctions final value fee by simply responding to ebays cancel transaction message link they sent you about my claim and experience with your irresponsibile bid and blatant lack of follow through i have decided to post this story and your information on the giant.org to warn sellers and buyers of your evasive trading behavior.

Dear hellomynameisart,

Hey there... sorry its taken me a bit to get back to you. I've had a few of crazy days at work. I'm just getting home now at 1am. Its too bad you had to send a email like this to me. I'm not really sure why you're being so rude considering it hasn't even been two days since the auction ended. I really like the piece but I'm not about to give my money to someone acting like a total a$$hole. File the complaint sweetheart.

if you have time to play on facebook you had time to respond to the half dozen polite messages and reminders i sent prior to calling you out.
Dont bid on things you cant afford and in the event you do make a mistake at least own it

We are both dudes....could you be a tad bit more specific?

Total silence from this f*ck until i posted a note with the slightest bit of frustration then coincidentally he has something to say within a f*ckin hour...
Obvious to me he was hoping to find a justified way out and took it although its still complete weaksauce

maybe i'm too lenient, but i give my buyers seven days to pay me. did you include any timeframe in your auction description? if not, what's eBay's rule regarding how much time you're supposed to give a buyer to pay? if you didn't specifically state that they need to pay within a certain timeframe, and eBay's rules give the buyer longer than two days, then i'd say you should've given him the number of days allowed by eBay before escalating the situation.

I know because of work/personal issues before, I've used the time granted to me by ebay (72 hours I believe) to pay for an item. You accepted the offer on the 12th and on the 13th were already bugging him about backing out. I'm sure you're a good dude and needed the money, but in this instance you were out of line and I would have reacted to your emails in the same way your buyer did.

Thats all fair and good thinking and i appreciate that but i said nothing so harsh that he couldnt have brushed off. Then factoring in his evasive behavior all the while being online im not tolerating that sh*t for more than thirty six hours. I myself have had moments or situations arise on deals that slow me down but also have the ability and humor to shrug off small differences and finish the deal unless if course im worried about someones credibility, lack of or detection of deceptive disclosure on print quality or lack of photos requested...then i will drag a$$ to sort things out.
This guy wasnt going to pay plain and simple and im totally certain ebay will find the case ib my favor or at least refund the final value.

No regrets

I almost want to purchase something from you to tesr it.....after the experience would you be satisfied and sell to me again?

Not giving him enough time to respond, stalking on facebook plus airing this all out in a place it doesn't belong.

eBay has guidelines for buyers who don't pay. If the buyer doesn't respond to email (giving him less than 12 hours to respond to each of your emails is not enough time) or pay then you can fill a complaint against him on eBay.

You asked him if he was having second thoughts because he didn't respond between 10:19 and 6:42 a.m? Some people do sleep.

Also, you may want to just send an invoice through ebay's system and relax instead of making political comments about weapons of war and 'China kicking our azzes' while stalking your buyer. Regardless of his or your views, it's not professional at all.

I'm not defending his decision to back out on the transaction, but you're communications would have made me mad as well.

while it would have been nice for the buyer to respond in a timely manner, they don't have to. buyers have up to four days to respond and pay, after that 4 day period you can open a case in the resolution center. 36 hours is not 4 days.

I will consider a revamp of my actions in the future...should have waited another few days of silence before i spoke but i have been doing this fifteen years with only three problem cases and know when i smell a rat

The part about him likely never paying is probably not true at all. I just recently completed a transaction with this buyer for a significant amount more money than your piece. Money is most likely not an issue with the buyer. I gave him as much time as he said it would take to finalize the transaction, and he paid exactly when he said he would. On top of that, he also assumed all risk as I requested the payments be made via wire transfer. Absolutely no issues at all and quite pleasant to work with. I would say he is a pretty busy guy though so I can understand the time between communications.

i don't necessarily think that this thread should be deleted, because it's a good (well, not really good, but worthwhile, maybe?) discussion about eBay protocol. but... i don't think that the buyer's name needs to be public, especially since he didn't break any eBay rules. so, i have removed all identifiers (let me know if i missed any).

Definitely a worthwhile thread. Just added hellomynameisart to my blocked list. That way I never have to deal with the OP.

FYI, buyers on Ebay have 4 days to pay before you can file an unpaid item claim. Then they have an additional 4 days to make payment.

Yeah I'd have to side with the buyer on this one.

Looks like the auction ended on a Thursday night... I get so busy with life I sometimes don't even look at email and/or business over the weekend and just deal with it on Monday.

I would have paid you on Monday (or over the weekend if I had the time) which it looks like he was trying to do at 1AM on Saturday.

interesting thats your take on this being you are one of the three flakes that have balked on a purchase transactiion with me and funny how similar both you and this guy either dont responde or stall..

Let me cast a wider net here. Im forty, have ran businesses my entire life, managed people and payroll, never had a delinquint debt and generally dont run folks through the mud cause it can always come back to bite you especially if you have a physical address or establishment that folks know you have interest.
