CAPITAL GAIN SCREEN PRINT

The U.S. government gives approximately $70 billion in tax breaks and subsidies to the highly profitable oil and gas industries. Green Energy companies only received 12 billion in subsidy because they don’t have the deep pockets of fossil fuel companies. The need to fund new, renewable technologies, should be obvious when the rapidly depleting oil and gas sources become more difficult and dangerous to extract each passing day. The only reason the government subsidies are so disproportionate is because of the massive power the dying oil and gas industry still has.

The Oil & Gas industry, which includes multi-national and independent oil and gas producers and refiners, natural gas pipeline companies, gasoline service stations and fuel oil dealers, has long enjoyed a history of strong influence in Washington. Individuals and political action committees affiliated with oil and gas companies have donated $238.7 million to candidates and parties since the 1990 election cycle, 75 percent of which has gone to Republicans.

Check out this article on the political influence of the Oil & Gas industry.

Anti-oil messages printed with petroleum-based inks are akin to writing, "Stop the Killing" in blood.

I know most if not all of the forum members are done with the "big oil is bad" concept. I feel the same way but this one will look pretty killer framed up between "A Message from Our Sponsor" and "Pay Up or Shut Up". I'm going for it.

If I stopped when I ran out of wall space I would have been in the poster buddy space a long, long time ago. As it is I still have wall space left and enough paper to cover every square inch 3x over. #consume

The problem with buying a house is furnishing the walls.
But congrats nonetheless.

I'm a big fan of Shep's straight-propaganda prints so even though O&G is getting a tad stale, I'm down.

Nice that this is dropping at a fixed time. Less time wasted on a print that will sell out quickly but will not be in huge demand.

Or the well is running dry on interest in Shepard's "subpar" prints in general..?

I agree with your comment on Shep's subpar prints as of recently.
Most of this years prints have been a pass for me, except for the letterpress prints that were released.

I hope Shep gets back to creating images without any print/text on them, as i love all his stuff from 2008 and earlier.

Let's just say it doesn't seem like the flippin' market is what it used to be... I mean, this print cost me $73 with tax/shipping. If I were silly enough to try to sell this on eBay, I'd be lucky to get 100 bucks. You take away the eBay fees, etc. and I'd make like 10 bucks on the whole thing. How people continue to "flip" some of these is beyond me.

I just got my shipping notification... Once people see the actual amount of art that Fairey put into this piece it will make alot of your walls. Lets just see what people think once they see it in person! IMO str8 to the point and will be timeless.

the paper resembles an actual canvas texture so i would guess that this new paper is either a test for "canvas" prints and they will decide to continue using it for those specific prints or that they have already decided to use this canvas textured paper for their canvas prints and this just happens to be the first print with the new paper.

i doubt it will be used for regular prints.
