I agree its not supposed to be Kremlin, Its just that the kremlin is one of the most famous "onion dome" buildings...djsp wrote:Oh I agree, but I just can't imagine it was supposed to be the Kremlin. It makes no sense.Typhoon wrote:Looks like a cross on the top in the print though.

durn! Somebody beat me to it......but I'll repeat it anyway!
"....drop your bombs between the minarets...."
Actually, as a Strummer/Clash footnote, in the recent Julien Temple doc, 'The Future is Unwritten', Strummer talks about his spiritual disappointment with the U.S. troops who charged into the (1990) Gulf War Invasion literally using 'Rock the Casbah' as their 'theme' music.

This print means more than it says.
I think this print is a statement from shep saying that the war is over.........for him. I think this will end up opening his print into a hole new theme! no more war themed prints. Frankly I am excited for this print but more i am excited for what will come after it.
He has been making war print for a very long time but as of next tuesday.......THE WAR IS OVER!!
I will def be trying for this one. Good luck getting it all!!

Someone please, admonkey maybe, post a pic of a minaret, onion dome and all, with a CROSS on top.djsp wrote:Oh I agree, but I just can't imagine it was supposed to be the Kremlin. It makes no sense.Typhoon wrote:Looks like a cross on the top in the print though.
Maybe the intent was to depict Southwest Asian/Islamic architecture, but that cross is misplaced.

Not an onion dome minaret (there are several different styles) but you'll get the point. This is the Turkish Eger Minaret in Eger, Hungary.
