No, I just blocked it out of the image so that in the event I ever get into a position to negotiate to get a matching number by some miracle, no one knows what cards I'm holding so to speak... I have actually seen the matching Soup Can I believe it or not.

Far from amateur, if anything it was a smart business move, you say your willing to pay 2500.00 for a set, they don't have any but look on ebay and realize they can pick them up cheaper and move them to you and make a profit, sounds to me like they were acting like an art broker as many other galleries do, to me that sounds very professional.

I don't know what happened between you and and Christian, sounds like a deal went bad, for what ever reason. I read your side I wish I knew Iconoclasts, but ultimately it is a business deal between you and him, letting people know you are unsatisfied is very and reasonable, but I feel that claiming they are amateurs, frauds, or shady is not fair especially when people are able to provide plenty great reviews and transactions.
You are not alone. Most people consider lying smart and shrewd business practice. I don't.

I'm not mad. I don't hate Iconoclast or Christian Strike. I think some of the criticism on this board is bandwagoning, and some of it is legit and hopefully has improved the business practices of Iconoclast, and for the most part the conversation has been cordial. Truth is, without this board the starting price would probably have been $500.

I like the print. I'll be going for III & IV to complete the series. I wish the selling structure of these was more in line with Shep's commitment to provide affordable art to collectors. But that is life.

It's their business the can do what they want. This is not a typical release so there is really no reason to have it structured like other prints by SF. Since the first soup can this has been the case, as they were priced at $150 which was 5 times more than a regular release obey release. They were professional and very easy to deal with on the second release and had superior packaging compared to OG. I think the majority who stepped up and either bought these as a matched set or seperate at a fair price are extremely happy with their purchase.

Ok I have funds for this and I've tried to read this thread throughout and all its little links to other threads, am I understanding it right that I have to get a password via twitter or some thing or os it something thats emailed via the mailing list? Again sorry for my ignorance. Ive been saving print money for a while now and would at least like a shot at this.

Note from Iconoclast Editions: The password for the Soup Can III print will be given out only via Facebook and Twitter. You must become a fan on Facebook or follow us on Twitter to receive the password. The password will only be necessary for the first hour of the release, then the print will be publicly available. Also, please know that insurance is now an option with all of our orders but is absolutely necessary for all overseas orders via US Postal Service. Orders placed without insurance will not be refundable in the event of loss or damage. Also, we have completely revamped our website both cosmetically and functionally. Your cart will time out in only a few minutes. Please proceed briskly throught the checkout process. Attempts to circumvent our system will simply negate your ability to purchase. Thank you.

OK, so I am new to twitter and am a little confused.

If I sign up as a 'follower' don't I still have to sit there and refresh the page to see their updates? And if that's the case, why even sign up at all...why not just go to the twitter page and refresh.

I know I can have updates sent to my phone but I want to avoid that as I have to pay for text messages. Am I missing something or is there really any need for me to sign up to see the update?

Another screw up. Add it to the list. They said it was going to be sent via email.
I'm probably crazy to think someone would post the password here.

You can turn the cell update notification feature on and off whenever. So do it for just the release.

Perhaps they could make the "tweet" private and only viewable to followers.

Otherwise, yes - you will likely have to watch it. Or set up an RSS feed somewhere

Instead of considering it a screw-up, consider that you have two avenues to find out when this print drops and get it before it actually releases on the site. It could just go up at a random time (I missed the last one because of that).

Everything is refundable when you dispute it with your CC company.

It's not, sadly Iconoclast failed here big time. By your merchants terms and service as a seller you are liable for insuring that any package you send must be delivered in the condition as sold. It doesn't matter what terms of service or sale Iconoclast have you agree to the merchant companies overrides theirs.
Iconoclast is 100% resposible for insuring that you receive a mint in the condition as described by their website and must either refund or replace any damage package, if they don't just dispute it with your cc or paypal and you will get a refund.
What is sad is they could easily just add it to shipping as others have stated and said it was to insure everyone was covered for heir purchase and it would have come off a lot better.

:/

Apparently, we need to further clarify our shipping options. First, we now offer UPS, Fed Ex, and USPS. You should all receive a variety of shipping options when you check out. Insurance, while optional, IS checked as the default. So you must opt out of including insurance. The idea here is to give our customers AS MANY shipping options as possible such as vendors, delivery time, insurance, etc. Our goal here is to give more options to customers, so you have more choices. Believe it or not, but many of our customers have requested to NOT include insurance for their orders to keep costs down. So we listened and gave you more options. Also, and this is just something we thought we'd mention about how we go about our business, most of the time when a customer opts NOT to include insurance, we include it anyway at our cost -- especially if it only costs us a few extra dollars. We do that variously and occasionally as a courtesy only, and we would not recommend ever ordering something uninsured.

Also, please note that Insurance is mandatory for all US Postal Service shipments. If you do NOT opt for insurance, you will not even see USPS as a shipping vendor option. USPS is generally the least expensive for overseas orders.

As always, if you have any questions about purchasing, checkout process, shipping, etc, please do not hesitate to email us at: info@iconoclasteditions.com.

Thank you.
PS: We haven't been on here for some time, and we noticed many were questioning the veracity of our offer to buy back SC II. While no one directly took us up on the offer, we have just this week purchased every single one [4] that was available on ebay. We have many more clients who want these prints than we can service, and we're thrilled to have more of these to offer our clients.

Any particular reason why subscribers to your mailing list won't get the password? Just curious because I'm not a social networking fan, and don't plan on becoming one just to score a password... how about hooking up forum members with the password too?

interestingly, the page for Soup Can IV says that its password will be sent out by facebook, twitter, and emailing list. for some reason they didnt include email notification for III. :?:
