Printing Stencils

What's the most practical way to go about printing an image for a large stencil (18x24 or 24x36)

I usually divide the image up into either letter or tabloid size in Photoshop then print all of the pieces out on whatever size paper I plan ahead for, then I tape them all together for the full stencil image.

just download BIG PIC. You can print any size you want,but you have to paste them together.

InDesign has a tile printing feature that I use, then tape together.

couldn't you buy a cheap overhead projector, tape a piece of paper/cardboard to a wall, and trace the large projected image onto that?

i get mine done at staples.
i think 36" x 42" is the max there.
