What a great story! The most impressive part of it is that they never sold a piece and most of their collection were donated to the National Gallery. But durn, that's a lot of turtles that are living in their apartment.

I would love to have some LeWitt and Close.

Just caught this on PBS's Independent Lens earlier, great film about two unlikely art collectors that amassed one of the most important modern art collections in history. Worth checking out.

Agree. Great film. And I love the part where they go to visit the National Gallery, and Herb wants to see his small Chamberlain sculpture...and he has her turn it a certain way 'cause he always displayed it differently. Too cool. Not to mention that the sculpture was amazing.
